Bodega Visit and Tasting

You’ll be picked up from your accommodation in Barcelona and travel by private transport into the Penedès. Here, you’ll be welcomed into a family-run bodega, where you’ll see 70-year-old vines, the 15th-century masía — a traditional rural Catalan house — and the family’s private chapel. In the old underground cava, you’ll observe the production, aging process, and final disgorgement. The highlight is a tasting of five cavas, paired with cheese, cured meats, bread, and chocolate or catanias.

The Penedès is central to Catalan wine production thanks to its diverse microclimates, long winemaking heritage, and role as the historic heart of Cava, Spain’s sparkling wine. Indigenous grape varieties thrive here, supporting high-quality, increasingly sustainable wines that define the region’s reputation. The bodega you’ll visit stands out for its commitment to sustainability: it relies entirely on water drawn from five wells, and all of its electricity is generated by solar power. Before continuing to the heavily visited Montserrat, this stop offers a slower, more intimate connection to local culture and rural life.
