Led by a local architect, you walk from Downtown to Cais do Sodré, exploring renovated public spaces such as Ribeira das Naus and the buildings that have gradually emerged around them. After lunch, a scenic drive along the river brings you to Belém, where UNESCO-listed buildings stand alongside Lisbon’s most ambitious contemporary projects. You focus on institutions such as MAAT, the Belém Cultural Center, and the Champalimaud Foundation, examining their forms, materials, relationship to the water, and to Lisbon’s Atlantic light.
